Is it a round of golf you’re looking for? Or a challenging game of bridge? Maybe you just want to sit at the pool or by the lake and read a good book. It’s all waiting for you at Shadow Lake Village.

Clubhouse

“Let’s meet at the Clubhouse”

The Shadow Lake Village Clubhouse, within walking distance from many units, is often the starting place for residents to get to know each other and participate in the many clubs and activities at Shadow Lake Village.

Borrow a book from the library, use the computers in the media center, workout in the gym, or just meet a few friends for conversation in The Well. You’ll find it all in the Clubhouse, along with our Management Office and team of experienced managers on-site 5 days a week.

Ballroom

From meditative QiGong sessions, to bingo, or vibrant holiday parties, the SLV Ballroom is a busy place and headquarters for many village activities. Check the rolling screen in the Clubhouse lobby and bulletin boards in the office hallway to keep up with the full scope of SLV activities. Choose your favorites and join in.

The Ballroom is also the focus for Board of Trustees meetings and the Shadow Lake Village Annual Meeting. The Ballroom is available for occasion rentals. Check with the office for available dates and guidelines.

Fitness Center

Keeping in shape can be a breeze when you make use of the SLV fitness center. Equipped with dumbbells, treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machine, elliptical, and a universal trainer, the gym is small but mighty. Enjoy the a/v system; connect your headphones to WIFI; or just enjoy the space as you work to keep fit. The fitness center is waiting for you 7 days a week whenever the Clubhouse is open.

Pool Table Room

Shadow Lake Village boasts four regulation size (9 feet) pocket pool tables. The Pool Table Room is open every day to residents and supervised guests 16 years and over. Pool cues are available. Whether you’re an avid player or just a beginner, consider joining the 9 Ball league (open to men and women).

The Library

Resident bookworms can browse and borrow books from the Shadow Lake Village recreational library in the Clubhouse. They’ll be pleased to find an assortment of mysteries, thrillers, beach novels, and biographies, as well as non-fiction selections. The library welcomes donations of current fiction and best sellers in good condition in regular or large print versions.

9 Hole Par 3 Golf Course

The Shadow Lake Village Golf Course is a private par 3, nine hole executive course located totally within the village. All residents are welcome to play and encouraged to join one of our active men’s, women’s, or mixed golf leagues. Please see the office to obtain a golf badge for your bag.

The SLV course is a walking course. A limited number of carts are available for people who need them. Please see the Management Office to obtain cart clearance.

Boat House & Lakeside Deck

One of the best places to view the activities on beautiful Shadow Lake is from the Boathouse Roof or Lakeside Deck. Fishing is permitted; catch and release is recommended. Sunfish, small and large mouth bass are regularly caught by fishing from the Deck or in a boat on the lake. Catch the sunrise if you’re an early bird or relax with a cocktail as the sun sets and the moon rises over the lake. It’s a perfect place to meet friends and unwind.

Kayak and Boat Launch Area

See Shadow Lake from the point of view of our waterfowl or enjoy a day of fishing by launching your kayak or boat from The Point. All watercraft must be registered with the office annually. Personal flotation vests for each “mariner” are highly recommended. If paddling or pedaling your watercraft is not your style, electric motors are permitted. No gasoline motors are permitted on Shadow Lake by Township Ordinance.

Bocce Court

Every community has their favorite sports and at SLV, bocce ranks right near the top, along with golf. Bocce courts are open to everyone and equipment is stored in the closet adjacent to the courts.

Bocce league play begins in April with the formation of teams. Play ends in September with a hotly contested championship series. Come and cheer for your favorites or join a team yourself. It’s a game of skill where mere inches make a difference.

Swimming Pool

Are you a mermaid or a merman? Do your feet never touch the water?

Either way, or in-between, you’ll enjoy the Shadow Lake Village pool and pool deck. The pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A lifeguard is present 8 am to 8 pm when the pool is open. After the pool has closed for the season, the pool deck can be enjoyed through the end of September (weather permitting) for sitting and/or socializing.

The Shadow Lake Village pool is the site of many summer activities including water aerobics and evening pool parties. All you need is your SLV I.D. card. Residents’ guests are admitted with a guest pass and in the company of a resident. See the Management Office to obtain a single day or seasonal guest pass.

Children ages 4 to 15 years old are welcome at the pool any day from 10 am to 1 pm. Children must be accompanied by a supervising SLV resident.

Vegetable Garden

If gardening is your passion, SLV makes 25 community garden plots available each spring. Plots vary in size but all are located within the fenced-in area at The Point. Watch for an announcement in early spring and join the camaraderie of gardeners who love to see things grow.

Tennis and Pickleball

SLV has two regulation, hard surface courts. Both courts are striped for pickleball. The courts are fenced and lighted so they can be used until 9:30 pm. Bring your own rackets and balls.
